Urban Unity member Will Scarlett releases his debut solo album digitally through Red Robot, after its initial release on CD in Australia through Starcharged Records, thirteen tracks of varying styles, all with Will’s signature laid back rapping style. Collaborations on the album include Sexy Face, with Oscar TG, Harlem Shuffle with Warp artist Lex Loofah and more!

The release date is 24th May 2010, but if you can’t wait that long, CDs are available now from Starcharged Records.

NIKI CARRERA - Silly Things

Due to “artistic differences”, one of the remixes on the April 2009 release of Silly Things by Niki Carrera is to be removed. As this involves taking down the whole release and resubmitting it, it was though better to replace the removed remix, rather than just remove it. Oscar TG has put together this twisted acidic drum & bass reworking, and there’s also a new dubstep remix to come from Kinzy. Look out for them hitting the download stores around the end of June.

Changes at RRR HQ

Due to ongoing problems with hardware, John (Lex Loofah) has decided to hand over running of Red Robot to me, Oscar TG with immediate effect. I would like to thank John for his hard work and dedication in getting the label off the ground and running it for the first two years, and also to thank him for his faith and trust in me to continue his hard work.

John will continue to work with Red Robot Records as an artist and remixer.

Alec Carlsson is a young house/tech-house producer, born in 1995 near Paris. His father is a DJ & producer and Alec was raised in a musical household, with soul, funk, jazz, house, deep house, soulful house, and a lot of electronic music styles. When he was 9 years old, his father’s love of music touched him. He was taught to mix by his father, then graduated to producing. He is now expanding on this knowledge gained and producing his own deep and funky house. This is his second release with us.

Tony Mafia is a Dj/producer from Columbia. His love for music started at an early age when he learnt to play the drums, piano and guitar. Over the years his music has developed through influences of Techno, Electro and House. He Started to Perform Live Sets in 2006 using Ableton Live and Logic making a name for himself at many clubs and venues around his city. He has had releases on Underground Records, Secret Weapon Records and Nasimus Records with many more coming soon.
